Vass shoes
The company Vass founded by one of the most respected European shoemakers, a native of Budapest, László Vass (read: Vash). His father worked in the shoe-making business as well. With unbroken tradition of handmade shoes that were exported from Budapest to Vienna's imperial court or to classy cities like Salzburg or Munich Mr. Vass was given the opportunity to learn from the old masters, who still remembered the honest pre-war production technology. After years of working for the state enterprise Vass took advantage of the opportunity when the Hungarian communist regime relaxed conditions for small business and in 1978 began manufacturing shoes under his own brand. All shoes with the Vass logo are entirely handmade using traditional methods and elsewhere already forgotten details like hand sewn soles or brass nails in the heels. Vass’ clients include highest elites especially from Austria and Germany, such as bankers, diplomats or descendants of aristocratic families. The company's products are therefore rightfully counted among the best in Europe.
